Building to Energy Step Code: Above Grade Walls & Glazing Assemblies – Kelowna

The Community Energy Association and City of Kelowna are hosting this workshop for builders & trades, designers, and building officials to learn how to build to the BC Energy Step Code – a new provincial framework aimed at creating healthier, more efficient, and more comfortable buildings.
Vancouver-based building science expert, Hamid Heidarali of Hamid Design Build, will lead this hands on workshop to provide attendees with a holistic perspective of the overall satisfactory performance of above grade wood-framed walls and glazing assemblies. Supported by mobile wall and glazing assemblies, the workshop will showcase various methods of improving thermal performance, air tightness and moisture management, among other topics. The workshop will cover a wide-range of solutions, from those that meet the minimum BC Building Code requirements to those that offer superior performance well beyond the Building Code.
Additional presentations from representatives of the City of Kelowna, FortisBC and Total Home Solutions are also featured.
A light breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks are included.
