Building Smart: Airtightness Testing – Diagnosis and Remediation (Vancouver or webinar)

February 5, 2020 @ 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Description

Join BC Housing at a Building Smart event focussed on airtightness testing diagnosis and remediation.

Attend in person at Brix Studio, 102-211 Columbia Street, Vancouver, or participate by webinar.

Applicable to both Part 9 and Part 3 buildings, this webinar will discuss diagnostic methods in detail, such as infrared thermography and smoke tracer testing, and use them to compile an air leakage inventory.

Presenters will share remediation methods and show how following a particular order of operations can prevent the need for repairs. Concepts will be illustrated with case studies and an in-depth discussion on mock-ups, mid-construction testing, common air leakage pathways, and a range of critical tie-ins and details that should be considered.

This webinar complements the Illustrated Guide to Achieving Airtight Buildings, authored by RDH Building Science Inc. and published in 2017 by BC Housing, with support from BC Hydro and the City of Vancouver.
