Smithers: Builders Breakfast — Intro to the BC Energy Step Code

Description
The Town of Smithers is preparing to adopt a new Building Bylaw in 2020 which will reference the BC Energy Step Code.
The Energy Step Code is a performance-based compliance path in the BC Building Code that is currently optional. The Province has signaled that by 2022, Step 3 will be the minimum code requirement for all new Part 9 buildings across BC. The Energy Step Code establishes a set of metrics that the builder demonstrates through energy modelling and air tightness testing conducted by an energy advisor.
