This 1-1/2-hour workshop provides an overview of the BC Energy Step Code, with respect to the design and construction of high-performance building enclosures.
We will discuss:
- New processes and building enclosure assemblies
- Compliance with the various steps
- The key roles involved
- The important principles of High-Performance Buildings
Presenter’s Bio:
With over 15 years’ experience in the sustainability and high-performance building sector, Torsten Ely specializes in energy modeling, energy audits and assessments, as well as Passive House design and consulting. Torsten brings an in-depth knowledge of high-performance buildings to the RDH team, including a wealth of experience with the EnerGuide Rating System, the BC Energy Step Code, Passive House design, and building science.
Torsten’s primary responsibilities at RDH include a variety of project work including Passive House consulting, Step Code services, energy audits and energy modeling.
Prior to joining RDH, Torsten worked as a Senior Building Energy Analyst at City Green Solutions where he led energy audits and assessments, completed energy modeling, provided technical support, and trained new Energy Advisors.
Torsten joined RDH Victoria in 2017 and is committed to the success of RDH projects.
