A Holistic Approach to High Performance Builds – Castlegar
April 6, 2018 @ 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
An engaging, interactive workshop, approved for 6 CPD credits from BC Housing, building science expert Hamid Heidarali, and Energy Advisor, Gerry Sawkins , will present a holistic perspective on high performance builds, and integrating the new BC Energy Step Code into your approach.
Supported by mobile wall and glazing assemblies, the workshop will showcase various methods of improving:
- thermal performance & comfort
- air tightness & moisture management
- long-term durability
- accessibility & adaptability to future repair and renovation
In addition, effective building envelope detailing at window to wall interface and wall penetrations will be presented.
The workshop covers multiple solutions ranging from those that meet the minimum Building Code requirements, to those that offer superior performance well beyond the Building Code. This workshop will prepare the industry for the adoption of the BC Energy Step Code.
